August Favorites: Back to School Skin Care Essentials

Hello everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. For this month’s favorites, I want to share some skin care items that will help prepare your skin to be looking energized and beautiful for back to school.

1. Cleanser: Clinque Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser, $19.50

I’ve tried this cleanser in the Clinque Pep-Start Sample Kit, and I loved it! This cleanser cleans and remove dead skin cells at the same time, making your skin feel smooth and vibrant. The  consistency is like of a sugar scrub, but it is gentle on your face to use.

2. Toner: SheaMoisture African Black Soap Problem Skin Toner, $9.99

The toner comes in a spray bottle, and the product sprays as a lightweight, fine mist. It helps great any existing acne on your face, helps control oil for some time, and gives your face a matte finish. This is great for oily and/or combination skin types, as well as blemish and acne-prone skin. I’ve noticed that my face started clearing up after using this toner for a week.

3. Treatment: Murad Acne Clearing Solution, $38

Try this stuff! It is truly amazing in clearing acne in just 72 hours. For me, I’ve noticed a difference in my pimple size after one day’s use! Using his over time helped treat my pimples quickly. It has a gel like consistency that is also run. A little really does go a long way. The salicylic acid does not dry my skin at all since it is a low percentage of this ingredient.

4. Moisturizer – Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion – Blemish Prone/Oily Skin, $42

This lotion is definitely one of the best lotions I’ve ever used on my face! It is a thick, white cream that is lightweight, and it asorbs onto the skin well. This lotion makes my skin have a smooth texture, and it does a wonderful job confollibg oil for about 4-5 hours before getting shiny. Since I’ve been using this lotion and the Acne Clearing Solution, I only need to blot once! It is truly amazing to finally find something that really controls oil really well. This combinarion is also great for the hot weather, as well as oily/ combo skin types. Even though Murad products are expensive, they are well worth the money. You can also buy their products at a cheaper price on Amazon.

5. Eye Cream – Origins Eye Doctor Cream, $37

This eye cream helps your eyes look more well-resred and younger as I t combats fine limes, dark shadows and puffiness. I recommend trying a sample of it at Sephora because the sample jar size will last you a while becausevoyu only need a little bit of the cream to apply on your eyes. It also gives a cooling sensation since one of the main ingredients in the product is cucumber, which is known for calming the skin.

6. Sunscreen – Palmer’s EvenTone Suncare, $8.99-$12

This sunscreen is affordable, smeels good, and does not leave an awful white cast on your face. It is also does not clog pores, and abosrbs well on to the skin.

7. Mask – Ole Henriksen Truth Sugar  Glow Polishing Mask, $42

I reeceived this mask as a 100-point reward from Sephora, and this make is incredible because it gives you that instant radiant glow. The walnut and papaya grains help to exfoliate the skin to make your face smooth and soft.

A cheaper alternative to this is the Formula 10.0.6 Get that Flow Peel-Off Mask. It that helps brighten skin’s complexion and help with breakouts.

8. Facial Wipes – Sephora Charcoal Purifying & Detoxifying Facial Wipes, $7.50 for 25 wipes

These wipes does a wonderful job cleansing the skin to remove dirt, oil and makeup. These wipes are dual-sided for easy cleansing and gentle exfoliation. The exfoliating side is great to improve skin’s overall texture. The charcoal really helps to detox skin and unclog pores. And these wipes have a pleasant smell that is not overpowering.

Another great wipes are the Burt’s Bees Pink Grapefruit Wipes for Oily, Blemish-Prone Skin, $6.59 for 30 wipes. Great at removing dirt and help treating existing acne.

These were my August Favorites! Thank you for reading. Share your back to school skin care essentials in the comments. See you all in the next post!
